25 Ways to Celebrate Women’s History Month

March is women’s History Month and here are a few ways that you can celebrate the women in your life and or yourself.

1. Write thank you notes to women that inspire you. 

2. Share random acts of kindness to ladies in your life.

3. Spend time with some of your favorite ladies: visit and cook a meal for them, have coffee, tea, or share a meal, go to the movies, or play board games etc.

4. Lift up the women around you. We are stronger when we work together.

5. Stay informed: Read about women who changed history and who are currently making history.

6. If you have little ones in your life than: Read books or watch movies that teach them about women that impacted or are impacting history.

7. Watch documentaries about women like Girl Rising.

8. Give your time, talent or money to organizations or groups that support girls and women.

9. Use your voice and encourage other women to use their voices. Speak- up and advocate against injustice and violence against women everywhere.

10. Go to local businesses owned or managed by women and support them.

11. Find out where women leaders of your community are guest speaking and plan to go listen to them. Support their success.

12. Host a donation party for menstrual or hygiene products, undergarments or make up. These items are at the top of the list at women’s shelters.

13. Sign up to mentor a young lady.

14. Listen to Podcast lead by women: ex. Truths Table

15. Schedule your yearly well woman exam.

16. Sign up for that class you have been putting off, like boxing or hip hop dance class.

17. Find out about the history of the women in your family. You can dive deeper, online by checking out FamilySearch.org, a free ancestry site that has millions of records from around the world.

18. Frame a favorite quote that inspires you and put on your home, office or in a space that will encourage you.

19. Create a Personal Vision Statement: this tool can help you plan long-term something you want to accomplish. It can help guide you on goal you desire. You can try it for a year or 2 just don’t let it limit your journey.

20. Play Monopoly. Did you know Monopoly was invented by a woman? You can also, read up on other women inventors who shaped our past and women inventors who are shaping our future.

21. Treat yo self. Do something for you, get a mani pedi or a new haircut, a massage or maybe go to the spa.

22. Be kind to yourself and your body. Do more of what helps you stay positive and healthy.

23. Learn something new that will empower you in your journey.

24. Share your story.

25. Come up with your own ways to celebrate women.

26. Continue to celebrate women beyond history month. Empowering women should go beyond 31 days. Keep advocating for the rights of all women.

A Note to the Fellas: This list is not just for women to celebrate each other, there are ways you can also celebrate women’s history month. Several things from this list you can do but some might not be appropriate for you but you can support women who are doing them or come up with other ways that work for you to celebrate the women in your life.
